Meet the team

Lynda McGuigan is the Museum of Scottish Lighthouses’ Manager with overall responsibility for the whole site including the team, the Castle, the Lighthouse and the Museum itself. She has already been featured on the BBC Radio 2 Simon Mayo Show in her work on promoting the Museum. Lynda has also compled a PhD on her private passion, Pictish Stones. Indeed, she’s even discovered lion images on the 19th Century ventilation covers in the Light Room that can be traced back to classical images also used to adorn Pictish sculpture. How cool is that?

Michael is our Collections Manager and a published historian, responsible for displaying and taking care of our nationally-recognised Lighthouse Collection. We know he’s right for the job; he devotes his free-time to researching local history including our beloved Kinnaird Head. Author of ‘Scottish Lighthouses: An Illustrated History’.

Anna is our Collections Assistant, precisely cataloguing our precious, nationally-recognised Lighthouse Collection. As well as her acute attention to detail, Anna is particularly talented at mimicking our Museum Manager which causes much general delight. “I’m fine hen, how are you?”

Our Administration Assistant, Frances, enjoys keeping our paperwork to a minimum (we love that too). Outside of work, she can be found at the hairdressers (weekly!) or at Fraserburgh’s indoor bowling club.

I am Operations Manager responsible for Retail, Health & Safety, Staffing as well as taking Guided Tours of the Lighthouse. In my spare time, I enjoy Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Horror, and Retro-Gaming.

I am a Tour Guide, Retail Assistant, and have been here for 7 years. When not at work, I enjoy caravanning with my husband and going to see and hear Irish singers.

I am Paul. I am a Tour Guide and Retail Assistant. In my spare time I enjoy reading and playing video games.

I am a Tour Guide and retail assistant at the Lighthouse Museum. I enjoy learning new things and spending time with my grandchildren.

My name is Brian. Currently, I am a Tour Guide and retail assistant at the Lighthouse Museum.
I enjoy football and listening to 1970 music.

I am a volunteer at the Museum. I help with tours and other activities. In my free time, I can mainly be found on our beautiful sandy beach walking my 2 dogs, doing yoga or swimming in the cold North Sea.

I am a volunteer tour guide at the museum In my spare time I like to draw sealife in pencil. I love cold water dipping at Fraserburgh beach and I also enjoy spending time with my wife.

Gayle one of our Museum volunteers who enjoys working with the Collection. In particular she is one of the people responsible for ensuring our lenses in the Museum are kept looking shiny for visitors. In her spare time Gayle enjoys reading and watching sci-fi!
