Scotland’s Lighthouse Museum Ltd is committed to the Scottish Government’s Fair Work First policy.As of 2024 the Museum is a committed real Living Wage Employer (Scotland) recognising the responsibility to the rewards and conditions of employment as well as the well-being of our staff.
We remain committed to improving the work-life balance of all our dedicated staff and to ensure we keep fair work practices at the heart of everything we do.

The Museum of Scottish Lighthouses is committed to advancing the Fair Work First Policy through:

• Effective Voice – by providing channels for effective employee engagement and holding regular 1-to-1 meetings between staff, line-managers and, when appropriate, the Museum Manager.
• Opportunity – The Museum undertakes a fair and transparent recruitment process with all job opportunities advertised externally and invests in training for all its staff, focusing on organisational priorities and individual personal development.
• Security – The Museum is committed to paying the Real Living Wage.
• Respect – Museum staff are entitled to be treated with respect and dignity at work and have a personal responsibility for ensuring that they treat others the way in which they would expect to be treated. The Museum recognises dignity at work to mean being free to work without experiencing, bullying, harassment, discrimination or victimisation.
